Victoria Station Cafe

Vs cafe is so hit or miss. We usually get elephant ears there when we stop in and they are often stale and clearly not fresh. Like the last two times (including today) they were stale, but the time before that was good. The ice cream there has always been really good, and they have good teas. Their saving grace has been that there isn't really any competition like them around here, so they are really the only game in town.

Pretty good sit down cafe for desserts. A bit on the expensive side, but the food is good quality and a great treat. The portion sizes are usually big and hefty (especially the cheesecakes) though, so if you’re looking for a light, after-meal dessert you’ll want to split whatever you get in half or quarters.Overall, the atmosphere and location are nice though, and the food is good enough to warrant the occasional purchase.

My absolute favorite place to drink coffee and work, or get coffee with a friend. The coffee itself isn't as good as Ben's Beans if you are really about black coffees, but the handcrafted drinks are as good, and the menu of options is always fun, with seasonal or pop culture inspired drinks from time to time.

Nice atmosphere, if you catch me studying here come say hi to your favorite local guide. You’ll spot me in tha fit you already know what it is. The coffee is overpriced, there are better options in the area. Low key the flavors are all the same. I’ll hit my blicky back up if I try some pastries. EDIT: The seasonal lattes are a step up from the coffees, well done VS. Ashley Stern, get real!

Desserts and coffee are always top notch but on the pricey side.

Nice coffee shop with light eats and a wonderful atmosphere. On a nice summer day choose the outside patio for a wonderful breakfast sandwich, or grab an ice cream cone for a late evening dessert. Coffee is excellent; service is fast and friendly; if you need to do some work the Wi-Fi has always been fast and doesn't drop. Highly recommend a stop. And, they have home-made doggie treats for your furry friend.

Desert is delicious and cafe is cozy and comfortable.

I have been here a couple/few times. The coffee is good, but it is a little pricey. Lots of great looking desserts. The ones I tried were good. Fairly large portions. Cozy environment...

Awesome desserts and great atmosphere.

Great coffee, tea, pastries, and desserts if you are in the area. My wife and I go whenever we are passing through the area and always enjoy what we buy. The cafe is situated in a cozy small town. Inside, the cafe is quaint and has an antique appearance. Plenty of seating in various arrangements, from soft couches to high chairs by a window. I highly recommend this location.

Great play coffee and a bite to eat. Busy at times but well with the wait. Very atmospheric as well.

This was my first time getting something from there. My daughter surprised me with a chocolate peanutbutter cupcake. I warmed the cupcake up and said I was going to eat a little "they are huge" and I could not stop! This was the best cupcake I have ever eaten in my life "and I have been here 39 years"! Definitly go get your little bit of heaven from this place. Cant wait to try more!

It is so rare in this day and age to find a coffee place which serves late night coffee and dessert as well as doing the morning jive!the place is cozy in all the right ways the coffee and espresso is delish as well as all there many bakery items and to top it all off the staff is very friendly!This is a real gem in downtown Putnam and a must-stop for a coffee pilgrimage!

A cool place to get some really nice and unique deserts. I ended up getting an ice cream come in a store made waffle congee. The young lady that waited on me, Lauren, was very friendly and helpful, even though she had to work pretty hard to get the flavor I requested.

Delicious specialty coffees! I got a Lady Bug Latte (Dark Chocolate Cherry) and it was great. The desert selection was huge, both in size and selection. I didn't get a chance to get a sandwich but I'll definitely be back. This place left me wanting more...

Always good service. Ice cream is under-rated. Building is gorgeous with tin ceilings, comfy seating, nice outdoor patio. I haven't been for music yet, but there is also an upstairs that looks fun. I always stop here on motorcycle rides for a treat and some people watching.

Favorite Spot for a Saturday morning coffee and food

Lukewarm hot cocoa is not worthy of a cafe that has good, piping hot coffee and great desserts! On a cold winter day the hot cocoa should be piping hot! Really?! Also I know, certain times are really busy but please clean the tables! Sticky not cool!

This is an awesome place. So many varieties of coffees, lattes, chais, teas, and pastries that will make anyone want to quit whatever fool diet they may be on. For anyone with extreme levels of self control, the quiche and ham & cheese croissant are just little pieces of heaven on earth. All this in the sweetest little spot, where you can choose traditional table and chairs OR comfy , cozy chair where you meet and relax with friends. And in nice weather, you can sit in their streetside tables, enjoy your purchase or conversation with friends or simply people watch.

Cool bistro restaraunt in downtown Putnam, serving gorgeous baked good and gourmet meals. Clean eclectic warm charming comfortable setting, can eat at the upstairs level too. Order n pickup at the counter. Off street easy parking next to building. Great place to meet with a friend!

I don't understand why this place is rated so high. The only reason I gave it three stars was for the decor. The desserts were all extremely sugary and did not taste good, were tough or tasted stale. Would not come back for the desserts but would come back for the laid back ambiance. I also agree with another reviewer, the employees could do without the attitudes.

Best desserts and coffee!!

Good coffee, cinnamon roll. Very nice, yuneec environment. A real throwback kind of setting… Very enjoyable, " train station" feel. Perhaps, that's why the name, "Victoria Station". :-) They have an exciting variety of baked goods , and an old-fashioned "glass front display", great place to meet up with friends for coffee! And ice cream too!

They didn't tell me the coffee was hot and not to eat the toothpick! This is a really nice place. Plenty of room to sit and use your laptop or chat... nice ambience...laid back. Plenty of windows and light. Music is good and not too loud...80's 90's hits. Lots of tables upstairs. Good amount of Gluten free options....I had the turkey/ham/bacon club....came with chips and pickle for under $10....was very good. Safe and upscale area of town with lots of parking a few hundred feet up the street. Friendly Staff. Oh, coffee was good too. Lots of pastries and ice cream....if I wasn't avoiding sugar I'd be going nutz. I'll be back when I'm in the area.

I go weekly, i love their lattes. Plus, they've got an impressive menu with options like homemade ice cream, muffins, soup, sandwiches..and a ton of desserts to choose from! Fun, friendly staff, with plenty of places to sit. Its a great place to meet friends!!

This is the cutest place ever, especially in the summer. My boyfriend brought me on a date here one cool summer night. The lighting on the outside patio surrounded by flowers and music makes you feel like you belong in a movie. The drinks and pastries here are to simply die for! Winter brings winter drinks and goodies chock full of yumminess! This place is a must go! *edit - I stopped in tonight for a pastry and tea. I was greeted by the owner who asked me if I'd like to try a fresh batch of ice cream he just made. It was heavenly! They will be offering a large selection of ice cream flavors this summer including soy options.

Good historic place to get coffee and a desert. Kids loved the cupcakes and cheesecake.

Only went in for coffee before a show at the Bradley Playhouse. Was incredibly tempted by the cupcakes and other desserts. Enjoyed our very tasty coffees outside. Will be looking for upcoming shows to justify a trip back to VSC.

Amazing hidden gem in North Eastern CT. Cozy seating from benches to tables and couches along with a quite area upstairs to get away from rustle and bustle, read a book or relax. Deserts of every type, even doggy treats. A coffee shop and more!

Every time I come here I fall more and more in love. The atmosphere is amazing, the service is outstanding, the coffee ravishing, and the treats are dangerously delicious! I would highly recommend checking this place out. I usually go in the early morning. Later in the day it can get crowded.

I love this place!! Vic's has only improved over the years. Great place for a coffee, to get some work done, or meet up with friends!
